Changing opacity for Tattoo
« on: April 24, 2017, 05:36:50 pm »
So I've held this off for quite some time but my google searching has fell short. I have recently been getting into create custom content for my game and decided to start of with tattoos.
I have been following the tutorial above^

Everything was going smoothly until I opened it up in s4s to see the finished product, the tattoo was way too dark. I read her last direction as to making the opacity lower on alpha layer 1 but i can't seem to figure out how to do so?
Anyone know how to turn down the opacity in the alpha layer?

You are in sooo much luck right now, unless you have already figured it out XD. I am actually the creator of MAC cosimetics the makeup brand for sims, and yes, I have to change the opacity of a ton of things when it comes to creating makeup for the sims.

If you are using photoshop, which is what I use, then you will need to navigate to the alpha layer which will be listed in the layers panel. You are going to edit this layer with shades of grey. Remember that pure white will cause the tattoo to be its full color and black will cause the tattoo to not show at all. So find a shade e of gray (which is somewhere in the middle) that makes the tattoo look best for you.

When you are looking at the alpha layer, the tattoo should be displayed as white,  the easiest way to get the results you are looking for is to just completely color over the tattoo on the alpha layer with a shade of gray, save the file amd import it into sims 4 studio. Its a really tedious process of trial and error and you may have to repeat the process a few times before you get the opacity you're going for, but Let me know if you are still confused.
