this happened to me. I gave all my sims idealized black features. Basically the black equivalent of the heart face template from Sims 2 that is used pretty much everywhere to this day in the Sims 2 community.

My solution was to mould the faces from people I knew or celebrities that I liked and admired. The goal wasn't to get them to actually like like real people so much as to get more variety in my game. I also started downloading other people's sims and using the existing templates more to get a varied look in my game.  Then I still remixed the various sims in CAS by creating genetic offspring of two different sims and using those to build my hoods. This worked really tbh.

This is pretty much what I do to try and combat the dreaded "same face syndrome." I even keep a sideblog now where I reblog pics of everyday people and models that come across my dash so I have like a directory of different face shapes and features. (That sounds super weird now that I say it lol)

I hadn't thought to then mix their genetics in CAS though, that's a good idea!

I am trying to get better at that. It is hard because some features I just love and want them all to have. I try to change it up a bit my adding unique features such as freckles, dimples, gaps, braces etc

I use some of my own sims, I download sims from different users on the gallery, and I edit the townies that I leave in the game.

Randomizing until I find a base I'm willing to work with and I use varying skin details, makes all the difference for me. Every so often an interesting townie will pop up and I save them after a makeover.
